Hathurusinghe was given one-month paid-leave Featured

Sri Lanka Cricket has given one month paid leave to head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe following the tri-nation Nidahas Trophy in March, Cricket Age reports.

Appointed to the position in December 2017, he draws a monthly salary of Rs. six million.

However, he has failed to show results, with the ongoing one-day series with South Africa already lost.

Reports say he does not believe in local coaches and relies heavily on Australian coaches.

Soon after every tournament, he leaves for that country and returns only when another series is about to start, according to a former Test cricketer.

Another weakness of Hathurusinghe is that he is media shy.

He avoided the media after captain Dinesh Chandimal was accused of changing the condition of the ball during the series with West Indies.
