Pothas resigns!

Sri Lanka’s fielding coach Nic Pothas has resigned, Sri Lanka Cricket announced.

He had served as the fielding coach of the Sri Lanka team for the past two years.

Pothas joined Sri Lanka in 2016 as fielding coach but was elevated to the top job as the chief coach and also served as the acting coach.

He had later requested the Cricket Board to appoint him as the assistant coach subsequent to Chandika Hathurusinge taking over duties.

However, Sri Lanka Cricket had not agreed to his request.

In a letter addressed to the SLC, Nic Pothas described that this was the right time for him to move on to other opportunities which will allow him to spend time with his family.

“After two incredible years with Sri Lanka cricket, this is the right time for me to move on to other opportunities, which will allow me to spend quality time with my young family.
