Umpires’ exam postponed Featured

Sri Lanka Cricket’s proposed Valuation Exam for umpires, which was met with much objection, has been postponed, reports say.

The exam for the grading of the umpires, was initially set to be held tomorrow (March 05) and email notifications were sent to all eligible umpires on 23rd February.

However, a large group of umpires have objected the exam on several counts, in a letter to the SLC as well as to sports minister - Dayasiri Jayasekera.

It is now reported that the umpires committee has decided to postpone the exam to March 26.

An email signed off by Umpires' Education Manager - Tyrone Wijewardena states as follows :

Dear All

Kindly note due to the possible Nidahas Trophy pre series session which falls on the 5th of March, the Umpires committee has decided to postpone the scheduled examination to the 26th of March 2018.

The venue and time will be notified in due course.

The workshops already arranged will go ahead as planned. Please be present.
