The top officials of Sri Lanka Cricket, its Chairman Shammi Silva, Treasurer Lalith Rambukwella and Chief Executive Office Anua de Silva apologized for evading the COPE probe on the Sri Lanka Cricket.
Officials of Sri Lanka Cricket apologized before Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) for failing to appear before the committee yesterday.
They tendered their apology yesterday in response for a directive by the COPE to the Sri Lanka Cricket to show cause for failing to appear before the committee when it had been summoned on Sept 3 and assured that they would be present on any future date they are summoned.
The COPE Committee also asked the SLC for a time table with the dates that the cricket officials will be participating in the upcoming ICC and Asian Cricket Council meetings.
COPE members pointed out that the excuses made by the Sri Lanka Cricket officials was a testimony enough to confirm the allegations of massive corruption there and the irresponsible and arbitrary manner its officials conducted its affairs.
