Trouble over cricket election again Featured

There is dissatisfaction over the manner in which objections had been heard to the list of cricket clubs having voting rights at the election of office-bearers for Sri Lanka Cricket, reports say.

Therefore, the election could become problematic.

Some clubs allege a three-member committee tasked with holding the election have carried out the investigation outside the due procedure.

Two outsiders had made submissions against the southern province cricket association when its appeal seeking the voting rights was taken up at an inquiry.

When the complainant raised the presence of outsiders, they were told that a member of the committee had introduced the outsiders.

The southern province cricket association has decided to hold its election of office-bearers on December 25 following the lifting of a two-year court order prohibiting the election.
