Former cricket manager wants his post back

Former Sri Lanka Cricket team Manager Charith Senanayake had told foreign media that he is willing to take on his previous post under a different administration.

He said he had learnt that measures were being taken to remove him from his post prior to the New Zealand tour, through media reports while he was in the midst of the England tour.

When he had inquired about the reasons for his removal, SLC had responded claiming that it was the communication weaknesses with the assistant staff.

Further, it is reported that he should not have taken up this post considering the relationship he had with the team coach Chandika Hathurusinghe.

Charith Senanayake had had held the post of team manager on several occasions and under the captaincy of Mahela Jayawardena when the team became runners up at the 2012 Twenty20 world cup, he was the team’s manager.

Senanayake had managed the team at three tests and seven ODI matches.
