SLC contract workers without duties to be sacked Featured

Sports minister Faizer Mustafa is planning to terminate the services in December of contract employees who do not perform any duties at Sri Lanka Cricket.

Mustafa wants to get his name cleared before the general election in January.

Some of these contract employees draw salaries close to one million rupees each, while nearly 15 others are paid nearly Rs. 100,000 a month.

The former SLC administration had given them the appointments.

They are not the only employees without work, but also there are many others, including certain coaches.

For most of the positions at SLC, there are two employees each.
