Clocking 23.79 seconds, she finished third in the heats and ended up with the 9th best timing.
Speaking to media, Rumeshika said that she thinks she was a a certain disadvantage after being allotted the 8th lane. Noting that she will be running on the 1st lane during the semi-final, Rumeshika said that she hoped to do better then.
Indian sprinter - Duttee Chand finished first after clocking 23.37 seconds.
The semi final will be held later today (28) at 5:20 pm IST.
Rumeshika's best timing is 23.4 seconds. The 200m womens' record at the Asian Games is still held by Sri Lankan Damayanthi Darsha, who set the record in 1998 after clocking 23.48 seconds.
