'Heroin- smuggling' cat escapes?

The cat which was recently detained by the Colombo Magazine Prison with drugs and phone equipment tied to its neck, has disappeared, the 'Aruna' newspaper reports.

The feline, dubbed as the “heroin- smuggling" cat, had disappeared from the room where it was held, the newspaper adds.

The report further notes that investigations are underway to ascertain the parcel was intended for which prison inmate.

The cat was found on Sunday with a packet tied to its neck containing nearly 2 grams of heroin, 2 SIM cards and a memory chip.

Officials believe the creature was used to smuggle heroin into the prison.
