SL's 10th Covid-19 fatality reported: cases rise to 1182 (update)

Sixteen more individuals in Sri Lanka have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing up the total number of infections found in the country so far to 1,182.

According to the data of the Health Promotion Bureau, 41 Covid-19 patients have been found in the day so far.

According to the situation report of the Epidemiology Unit issued at 7.00pm today (May 25), there are 477 patients under medical care, 695 recoveries and 10 fatalities at the moment.

A 51 year old woman has become Sri Lanka's 10th Covid-19 fatality.

The victim, who was in isolation at the Trincomalee Quarantine Centre, had returned from Kuwait and was tested positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the total number of persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Sri Lanka has increased to 1162 with the discovery of 14 new cases, health authorities say. Seven patients were found earlier today as well.

According to the situation report of the Epidemiology Unit issued at 5.30pm today (May 25), there are 457 patients under medical care, 695 recoveries and 10 fatalities at the moment.
