Muslim ministers decide swearing-in

Minister of Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs MHA Haleem says Muslim MPs who resigned from their Ministerial posts on the 21st of June, will take oath as Ministers once again following the return of MP Rauff Hakeem, who is currently overseas.

Speaking during a media briefing in Kandy the Minister said according to his knowledge MP Rishad Bathiudeen is also set to be sworn in as a Minister.

He stressed that there were no objections towards MP Rishad Bathiudeen being appointed as a Minister.

Minister Haleem stated Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also confirmed that the Police had informed the Premier that there were no charges against MP Bathiudeen.

Accordingly Minister MHA Haleem said MP Bathiudeen does not face any issues in being sworn in as a Minister once again.
