Rangana Herath sets world record

Sri Lanka won the test series against Bangladesh 1-0 today, winning the second test by 215 runs.

The Bangladesh team were bowled out for 123 in their second innings in the second test. Sri Lanka scored 222 all out in their first innings, while while Bangladesh managed only 110 in response.

Sri Lanka in their second innings scored 226 all out.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s left hand batsman Rangana Herath set a world record in today’s match by getting the highest number of wickets by left hand spinner, 418 wickets.

Previously this record was held by Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram having obtained 414 wickets.

New Zealand’s former captain Daniel Vettori held the third spot with 362 wickets.

The fourth and fifth places respectively were held by Chaminda Vas and Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson.
