Special visa for those without citizenship! Featured

The Immigration and Emigration Department is taking measures to issue a special visa for Sri Lankan holding citizenship in other countries that does not allow for dual citizenship, according to the Department’s Head Chandana Hettiarachchi.

Countries such as India and Japan do not have provision for dual citizenship and Sri Lankans holding citizenship of such countries with exceptional talents and skills and with potential to invest and be part of the country’s development will be entitled to receive this special visa.

This visa would allow such persons to remain in the country for long periods.

The initial measures for this visa is already being formulated and it is expected to be made available in three months’ time.

The Immigration and Emigration Department said that thousands of applicants could apply for this special visa.
