A JO leader who had expressed his views to the newspaper had said that in addition to external actions such as protests, their intention is to pressurise the government through destabilising the state service sector.
This decision is said to have been taken at the Joint Opposition party leaders meeting held at Mahinda Rajapaksa’s official residence at Wijerama Mawatha on August 01.
It had been proposed at this meeting to use the GMOA, JVP unions, Port unions, CPC unions, Bank unions and other main state institution unions to destabilise the government.
This task has been handed over to MP Gamini Lokuge.
