A/L military operation suspended

The Examinations Department has suspended the decision taken to appoint retired military personnel as additional invigilators at A/L examination centres.

According to the General Secretary of the All Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin, this decision was taken subsequent to discussions held between the unions and the Examinations Commissioner General Sanath Pujitha yesterday.

The A/L examinations are scheduled to be held from August 6 to September 01 at 2268 examination centres.

The Education Ministry stated that 321,469 candidates are scheduled to sit the GCE A/L examination this year.
