The eight persons arrested over the Kandy clashes, including the head of the Mahason Balakaya Amith Weerasinghe, were ordered to be further remanded until August 10, when they were produced before the Theldeniya Magistrate District Judge Shanaka Kalansooriya.

In response to a request made by the TID, the judge granted permission for the voice recorder that was in the possession of the 4th suspect to be sent to the Government Analyst to be examined.

Further, the two suspects who were arrested by the Rangala Police over the recent clashes in Kandy were also produced in Court today and ordered to be remanded until August 10.
