Office opened in Mullaitivu for missing persons (video) Featured

An association of mothers of missing persons in the north and the east has opened an office at Mullaitivu town to take forward their struggle to know the fate of their children, according to radiogagana.com.

The office opening came following the conclusion of a 500-day sit-down protest by the women, as their health was deteriorating.

Speaking to the media, they said they would continue their struggle until their objective was achieved.

Secretary of the association Leelawati Anandanadaraja said they had changed their way in order to secure an international mediation in the matter.

Head of the association of missing persons in Trincomalee Sebastian Devi said they could not trust the Missing Persons Office and would have to go to the UNHRC to seek justice.
