Cricket Aid donates medicines to Apeksha Hospital Featured

Sports minister Faizer Mustafa has been commended for donating medicines worth Rs. one million through Cricket Aid of Sri Lanka Cricket to Apeksha Cancer Hospital in Maharagama.

The donation was made by members of the national team who visited the warded children of the hospital yesterday (17).

Also present were SLC CEO Ashley de Silva, chief administrative officer Aruna de Silva and Nihal Perera, private secretary to minister Mustafa.

Thilanga Sumathipala started Cricket Aid, but the disbursement of the funds it has collected had been taking place at a slow pace.

Cricket Aid is under the charge of one Upali Seneviratne, appointed by the ex-president around 18 months ago, and he draws a monthly allowance of around of Rs. 150,000.
