The group had hung a banner with photos of deceased Black Tigers and lit oil lamps, reports add.
Vallipuram Vasanthan, known as Miller, had drove a bomb filled vehicle into the heart of the Nelliady military base on July 05, 1987, killing 37 military personnel. The attack was known as the first Black Tiger attack and was later commemorated by the LTTE as the Black Tigers Day.
Meanwhile, Kilinochchi security forces say that inscriptions and pro-LTTE drawings on the Akkarayankulam road were displayed last morning (05), urging the public to join the Black Tiger commemoration.
Akkarayankulam police are investigating to find the persons behind the drawings.
