He said this joining the public rally organised by the ‘Eliya’ organisation in the Galewela town yesterday (01).
Gotabhaya Rajapaksa further said, “Today the ministers speak with such anger and these people are trying to enforce a 'jumper democracy'. They are not speaking about the country’s problems, but speak with revenge and hatred. There are certain actions that need to be taken when a wrong is committed.
Today when there is a wrong committed, it is the politicians and the non-governmental organisations that are trying to take action. It is this government who is ruining the country’s democracy.
Some have forgotten their own past. Some are ridiculing Mahinda Rajapaksa with all sorts of names. Who were the founders of the White Vans? Who were the founders of Batalanda? These are the founders who are now talking so much about democracy.
What a lot of slandering was done based on a comment made by a monk at a private alms giving that I had. This is the pathetic plight that the country has now been brought to.”
