FCID removes 3 officers who probed Rajapaksas Featured

Three police officers who had investigated major fraud and corruption committed by the Rajapaksa family members during their regime have been removed from the FCID, say police headquarters sources.

There is strong suspicion over the removal of the officers, who are overseas trained.

One of them investigated Carlton Sports Network that is accused of violating the money laundering act, faking documents, criminal breach of trust, misuse and Customs offences.

This officer had even gone to Singapore to investigate and helped the state regain many millions of rupees misappropriated by the Rajapaksas.

The other two officers had investigated the highways ministry and the bunkering fraud at Hambantota port.
