British rugby player suddenly dies in Sri Lanka

A member of the British Rugby team who had arrived in Sri Lanka, had reportedly died due to breathing difficulties, it is reported.

Meanwhile, another player in the British team is also in critical condition and is being treated at a private hospital in Colombo, According to police.

The Police Media Spokesman’s Office said that the player who had died is a 26-year-old.

The British Rugby team comprising 22 players had arrived in Sri Lanka on May 10 and having played a friendly match on May 12 in Colombo, they had participated in a dinner party at the same venue that was organized for them.

They had returned to the hotel they were staying in and had gone to a night club in the Colpetty area for enjoyment. Last morning, the two players had complained of breathing issues and  the hotel management had admitted them to hospital.
