Thondaman to be a Cabinet minister soon?

Chairman of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) - Arumugam Thondaman is to swear in as a Cabinet minister soon, say internal government sources.

MP Thondaman too, says that he was invited by the government and president on several counts to join hands with them and take up a Cabinet ministerial portfolio.

He was speaking to media after a discussion in Hatton yesterday (01).

Noting that he had attended a CWC function to mark the May Day at the party headquarters, Thondaman had said he will soon leave for Colombo and take a decision on this regard.

Yesterday's cabinet reshuffle saw to the reduction of cabinet ministers from 47 to 42.

However, newly sworn in minister of Law & Order - Ranjith Maddumabandara had said  that the swearing in of cabinet ministers concluded yesterday.
