36 students deprived of their rights!

The fundamental rights of 36 students from the Polonnaruwa Royal Primary School who had got through the year 5 scholarship examination, has been deprived to them by not giving them admission to the Polonnaruwa Royal Central Maha Vidyalaya, their parents alleged.

When inquired from the Principal of the Polonnaruwa Royal Primary School, Nimal Jayasinghe regarding the plight of these students, he said that this issue was not his problem.

The Principal of the Polonnaruwa Royal Central Maha Vidyalaya said admissions are carried out according to the education regulations.

However, the parents of these students appealed to the education authorities to look into this matter and see that justice is served as the fist term is almost ended.

Incidentally, the Polonnaruwa Royal Primary School is located just 100 meters from President Maithripala Sirisena’s Polonnaruwa residence.
