This drug manufacturing plant, built under the initiative to manufacture the country’s drug requirement within the country, at a cost of Rs. 1.4 billion.
This pharmaceutical manufacturing facility is built on a 15 acre land in a joint venture between India’s ‘Spal’ Company and ‘Sans Active’ Pvt. Ltd.
This venture will provide employment opportunities to around 500 youth from the Kalutara district.
The agreement in this regard was signed at the ‘Avani’ hotel in Kalutara.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sri Lankan government by the Chairman of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation Dr. Sayura Samarasundara and the Chairman of ‘Spal’ Vijaya Prakash.
The Managing Director of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation M. Sundaralingam was also present.
