Existing laws sufficient to arrest bond fraudsters  – lawyer Thiranagama

Meanwhile, senior lawyer Kalyananda Thiranagama says the existing laws are sufficient to arrest the bond fraudsters.

Speaking at a media briefing organized by ‘Eliya’ on January 30 in Colombo, he said there was no need to set up a separate court to hear the case.

Any attempt to form a separate court will be considered a move not to investigate the fraud properly, he said.

Provisions in the penal code and the acts on public property, bribery and foreign exchange are adequate to prosecute them, said Thiranagama.
