The girl who faced this situation, her father and another relative had come to the HRC, while statements were recorded for over seven hours.
Having been summoned by the Human Rights Council, the Kekirawa Zonal Education Director, the Principal of the school and several teachers involved in the incident had arrived at the HRC as well.
According to the Director of the SLHRC investigation division Nihal Chandrasiri, many sensitive points were included in the complaint.
He said greater emphasis was placed on the fact that the girl had been without a school for almost a month and her expulsion from the school.
Chandrasiri further stated that even without a complaint, investigations would be conducted based on the reports b\published in the media.
