Reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror say the parents are going to lodge a complaint to the Human Rights Commission against their removal.
The four – Sandeepa Kalhara, Prashan Kalhara, Tharindu Harshana and Dhananajaya Prasad – are all from Royal College, Panadura.
Its principal has written to district cricket coach Ajith Weerasinghe asking not to allow them to attend practice sessions.
The principal’s reason for the request is that the four are not attending practice sessions for the school.
Prashan Kalhara has even represented Sri Lanka at the under 15 level.
The district cricket coach has objected to the principal’s request, saying their removal will affect the pool’s balance.
Reports also say the principal and other school officials have influenced the four boys to attend practice for the under 19 team.
However, their parents have decided against it.
