STF commandant in hot water over special security to minister Featured

There seems to be an ulterior motive in the National Police Commission’s instruction to immediately remove STF commandant senior DIG M.R. Latiff from his position, political sources say.

The reason is that Latiff has given special security to a UNP minister, which is a level similar to that of the president.

UNP and SLFP ministers have inquired unofficially from the NPC about this.

The STF has also given security to a house newly-constructed by the minister in question.
