Allegations that Mahinda is attempting to split SLFP! Featured

On the pretext of saving the SLFP, Mahinda Rajapaksa is said to be participating in Joint Opposition propaganda activities and trying to split up the party in a very shrewd manner, a group of SLFP members have complained to the President.

They pointed out that if he is committed to safeguarding the SLFP, his participation at Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna in a manner which is advantageous to them, is problematic.

Under these circumstances, even though the national government agreement ends, joining with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is bound to be problematic and ministers such as John Amaratunge acting in ignorance of Mahinda Rajapaksa’s double standards is of grave concern, these ministers have told the President.
They pointed out that even on previous occasions although the former President and certain Joint Opposition members had gone against SLFP decisions and addressed numerous rallies, the SLFP had not taken any disciplinary action against them but the party can no longer turn a blind eye to such detrimental behaviour.
