Japan’s largest warship calls on Colombo Port

Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Sazanami and Izumo Naval vessels called on the Colombo Port today (20).

As customary, the Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the Japanese vessels to the Colombo Port.

Izumo is the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force flagship and the largest warship in its fleet. It is 248 metres in length and 38 metres in breath with a crew of 970.

The Sazanami is 151 metres in length and 17.4 metres wide with a crew of 175.

During the three day courtesy call the two vessels will participate in a number of exercises.
