The JO has decided to allow its affiliate parties to take decisions independently in accordance with their political identities.
Accordingly, the National Freedom Front yesterday (19) wrote to the speaker, informing him that it had left the CC and its steering committee.
But, the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna, Lanka Sama Samaja Party, Communist Party of Sri Lanka and Pivithuru Hela Urumaya have decided to remain.
These decisions were taken following lengthy discussions at a meeting of the JO’s leaders on the previous day.
