Low quality cement used for Uma Oya! Featured

The cement used for the Uma Oya development project is of low quality, a ministerial committee has been told.

The six-year project has been funded by the Iranian government.

The substandard constructions in the project have caused a major leakage of water and more than 800 houses in Bandarawela have been damaged due to cave-ins.

People of the area have been staging protests, demanding immediate government intervention over this grave situation.
