Kusal Perera was the main architect of Mahinda Rajapaksa's political campaigns that brought him into national leadership with human rights campaigns, the Pada Yathra and Jana Gosha in late 1980's and early 1990's.
The book on Rajapaksa is expected to cover the political metamorphosis of Mahinda Rajapaksa into a Southern Sinhala leader who still remain a decisive factor in Sri Lankan politics, despite his defeat at the 2015 January presidential election and being demoted to the position of a district MP.
