Minister delays Angoda Lokka’s extradition? Featured

The extradition of Lasantha Chandana Perera alias Angoda Lokka by India has been delayed due to the Foreign Affairs Ministry not handing over required documents to the Indian High Commission, reports say.

He was caught by Indian authorities with a fake passport, and the CID has made all arrangements to get him deported to Sri Lanka.

He is a main suspect in the prison bus shooting in Kalutara that left Aruna Damith Udayanga and six others.

The delay is said to be due to Angoda Lokka getting the support of a government minister.

Another suspect in the incident, identified as Athurugiriye Ladiya, too, has been arrested in India.

There is suspicion that both, presently being held at a detention camp India, could make an escape attempt.

Meanwhile, the mastermind in the Kalutara shooting, Makandure Madhush is in hiding in Dubai.

However, laws in that country do not help in getting him arrested and extradited to Sri Lanka, sources say.
