Ex-chief of the national intelligence service Maj. Gen. Kapila Hendawitharana has been summoned by the FCID, ‘Sathhanda’ reports.

The basis for his summoning is the revelations made while under interrogation by military officials arrested over abductions, disappearances and murders during the Mahinda Rajapkasa regime and top state officials accused of financial fraud.

Hendawitharana will appear before the FCID tomorrow (12) and will be summoned by the CID as well within the next fortnight.

Hendawitharana has been accused of political involvement in support of the then government while serving as head of the national intelligence service.
