Can Tsunami rogues criticize Ranil? – Mangala asks Featured

The money that was received as donations from foreign countries after the December 26, 2004 Tsunami during the past regime, was credited to a private account ‘Helping Hambantota’ and while there are allegations of this money being fraudulently misappropriated by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, it is ironic that he is criticizing Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe over his foreign trip, Finance and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera said.

Helping Hamnabtota has been the topic of discussion recently.

Hence Samaraweera pointed out that it was amusing to note that Rajapaksa would criticize Ranil Wickremesinghe for leaving the country at a time of emergency when he himself had defrauded aid that was meant for Tsunami victims. Furthermore, it is even more amusing as Rajapaksa himself is preparing a tour to Japan to collect funds for his political campaign.
