Joining in, Bandula Gunawardena said this came after the House finance committee decided two days ago to suspend a supplementary estimate approved for the purchase of vehicles for ministers.
Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella objected, saying the vehicles would be bought for the ministries, not for the personal use of the ministers, and asked the opposition not to mislead the public as it always did.

The JO leader charged Kiriella was not replying to the question Bandula Gunawardena was trying to ask.
He said that the question was about, after the finance committee’s decision to suspend vehicle purchases for ministers, another supplementary estimate has been tabled to buy vehicles for CC members.
Wickramaratne, who is also in the House, could answer the question, he said.
‘Can public money be spent like this’
Chief opposition whip Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the public was already having a question to ask over the purchase of vehicles for ministers, which they would deal with separately.
Added to that, vehicles are now to be bought for members of a committee tasked with formulating a new constitution.
