CPC uncovers diesel pilfering racket Featured

CPC officers have been able to uncover a diesel pilfering racket by certain bowzer drivers and assistants that had been going on for a long period.

The investigation division detected the fraud that took place when transporting fuel from the CPC’s tank complex in Peradeniya to a private power generation company at Pallekele.

Each bowzer, with 10 tanks, can hold 33,000 litres of diesel, but some drivers and assistants had saved diesel in two tanks and in the internal pipeline of the bowzer.

Investigation officers say drivers and assistants of four bowzers had been involved in this racket.
