Chinese Embassy donates water bowsers (Pics)

Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy - Pang Chunxue recently handed over water bowsers to the Polonnaruwa District to support the Sri Lankan Government's drought relief programs.

The keys of three 10-ton water bowsers and one lorry truck (worth more than Rs. 40 million) were handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena at the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat on May 05.

The two countries have remained helpful to each other especially during times calling for disaster relief. During the visit of H.E. Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), in April 2017, the Chinese Government also declared to donate 90 water bowsers worth Rs. 1 billion to assist Sri Lanka easing the impact of adverse climate conditions.
