Speaking to media at the JVP headquarters today Party Leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said they presented a few of those proposals to the Prime Minister during today’s talks.
MP Dissanayake said the JVP legal team are conducting a thorough legal analysis on the proposed Amendments and are considering further proposals to be implemented.
He explained that a written list of proposals will be submitted, as requested by the Justice Ministry.
MP Dissanayake said they also hope to present relative facts at a meeting of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee.
He also assured that the party will make their best effort to introduce adequate reforms during the Committee Stage Debate.
The JVP Leader also stressed that they will not support the final draft bill for the Constitutional Amendment, if the people’s demands are not reflected in the document.
