A group of Sri Lankans in Anuradhapura were seen placing tills at filling stations to collect the rupee loss, claiming they are not in debt anymore.
The money collected in these tills are to be sent to the Minister from the local post office via a money-order, reports say.
Speaking at the cabinet briefing yesterday (24), Minister Kanchana Wijesekera told reporters that even after the massive price revision just hours earlier, the CPC still incurs a one rupee loss for a litre of 92 octane petrol and 60 cents for every litre of Auto Diesel.
