Presently in Rome, he received a telephone call from president Maithripala Sirisena in the morning, wishing him on his birthday. The PM too, has added his wishes over the phone.

The president asked him to accept more responsibilities in the government, as a key figure in its formation, reliable sources say.

A cabinet reshuffle is expected soon, with president Sirisena having hinted an inclusion of new faces.
