‘Janayugaya’ hints at Shiranthi's arrest Featured

A VVIP figure will be arrested in connection with the murder of ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen, reports ‘Janayugaya’, the newspaper owned by Arjun Aloysius.

It is an open secret that former first lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa is under suspicion over the killing.

CID investigators have found her conduct and behaviour on the night Thajudeen was murdered to be suspicious.

There had been 41 outgoing calls from a certain telephone number at Temple Trees on that night, and it is now known that it was Shiranthi’s personal telephone number.

Most of her calls, even after midnight, had been taken to the mobile phones of the then OIC of Narahenpita police and the Mt. Lavinia HQI at the time.

‘Janayugaya’ also reports that a medical doctor too, is to be arrested.

Former DIG of western province Anura Senanayake remains in remand custody while former crimes OIC of Narahenpita Sumith Perera is out on bail, on a charge of having concealed information about Thajudeen’s killing.
