The Chinese Minister was accompanied by a delegation of 18 officials.
Minister Namal Rajapaksa, and State Minister DV Chanaka were present at the Bandaranaike International Airport to welcome the Chinese Foreign Minister.
He is due to depart for Beijing tomorrow.
The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka said the Foreign Minister’s visit is focused on launching celebrations of the 65th anniversary of China-Sri Lanka diplomatic relations.
According to foreign media, Wang Yi is also due to engage in discussions with the President and Prime Minister, and other senior officials.
