Verdict on Welikada massacre to be revealed today!

The verdict in the case related to the killing of 27 prisoners and 40 others injured in a clash that took place inside the Welikada prison premises on November 9 and 10, 2012 is due to be announced today (06).

Attorney General Dappula de Livera had filed a case against former Police Narcotics Bureau Inspector Neomal Rangajeewa and former Prisons Commissioner Emil Ranjan Lamahewa in connection with the incident.

Neomal Rangajeewa and Emil Ranjan Lamahewa were arrested in March 2018 in connection with the murder of prisoners in 2012.
