Ranil instructs not to oppose bail for Wimal Featured

Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed state legal officials to file all charges against NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa before the New Year, and not to oppose bail for him.

Joint opposition’s leader Dinesh Gunawardena has repeatedly asked the PM to ensure that Weerawansa was given bail.

Wickremesinghe has responded by saying the government did not want to see him remaining behind bars.

The NFF is having suspicion that the PM is behind the incarceration of their leader.
