SDIG who assaulted civilian, transferred Featured

Sabaragamuwa Senior DIG Ranmal Kodithuwakku, who was involved in an assault on a suspect has been transferred.

A video clip showing the assault was widely shared on social media.

The announcement was made by the IGP C.D. Wickramaratne in a communique directed to senior police officers today (Oct. 26).

Accordingly, SDIG Kodithuwakku has been transferred as the Senior DIG of the Medical Services & Welfare Division.

Police also say that an investigation has been initiated into the incident.

Meanwhile, reports say that Kalutara DIG - K.P.M. Gunaratne has been appointed to oversee the work in Sabaragamuwa province.
