Will give a kilo of rice below Rs. 100 - Bandula

The first stock of rice which will be brought down in line with the government's programme to import 100,000 MT of rice, is expected to reach the island today (11).
 
Cabinet approval was granted recently to import the rice as a buffer stock to prevent a shortage in the market.
 
Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardena said that a kilo of rice will be provided to the general public at a price less than 100 rupees and that this programme will commence soon.
