Police said a motorcyclist who had come to a fuel station without a face mask had threatened the employee of the fuel station after he was asked to keep his distance.

The motorcyclist who left the fuel station, returned a few minutes later with another man wearing a full-face helmet and assaulted the employee.

Another employee of the filling station who tried to prevent the attack had also been assaulted.

The victim was admitted to the Padukka Hospital and later transferred to the Kalubowila Hospital for further treatment, police said.

Police further stated that they are investigating CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
